I read all the articles before reading about what a "satire" was. A satire is a literary genre that uses irony or sarcasm. In the first article I didn't quite get the sarcasm until I read the last paragraph about the eel twice. At first I didn't know what a satire was so it didn't make sense. Then of course I realized the irony is that the eel did great in all subjects even though we know there is no possibility an eel could run or fly.
The second article confused me because it had a future date. I guess if we thought about the future, there are some things we have now in eduction that they won't have in 30 years. But I really didn't understand how this is considered satire. Is it because the article is ridiculing how we are learning today?
The video was not at all what I was expecting. I actually stopped the video halfway and restarted it because I was a little confused. It makes sense that if your school wasn't a very good one or one that wasn't following the rules that it wouldn't have a commercial made. It was ironic that the one student said her RA let them drink because they wanted to be liked. Obviously at any other school they wouldn't allow that.
